This post is about Antifa, the newest Black Lives Matter protests, and the President’s careless response to the situation. It’s one of the rare times I have to make a post with the intention of clearing up major misconceptions that I encounter over and over. It makes me very mad to see these people misunderstanding something.
There are several points I want to discuss in this article. The first one is quite simple, and I don’t understand how so many people are getting it wrong. The American “Antifa” is no longer an anti-fascist movement. It has devolved into an anti-American movement. They are responsible for much of the arson and looting that has happened over the past few days. Therefore, you are not an enemy of the state just because you oppose fascism. You are a terrorist if you’re burning down buildings and mass looting, or paying people to do so. Therefore, Trump’s decision here was the right one, and one that should have been made a long time ago.
I’m not going to discuss the protests here because I’ve already done it in the current breaking news article. I’d like input on why making America as great as it was during, say, Lincoln’s time, is racist. Or why standing up for the general police force that doesn’t support racism is racist, too.
Third, I’d like to repeat that Trump isn’t being the smartest with his decision to use the Bible as a prop. I understand that he’s trying to return to the good, or whatever the best way to word that is, but I disagree with his decision to go to the church, clearing and stirring up protesters, to threaten the use of the military. Where’s the “love thy neighbor” in that?
Additionally, he needs a filter. Of course, he has no filter, and spouts whatever he wants, often leading to retribution from the media, his Twitter replies, and the platform itself. Maybe Twitter should add a warning before he sends certain things, because he can’t filter himself!
And did it really take you this long to realize the United States is a police state? It has been for as long as I can remember and with the parties’ poor picks, it’ll be like this for the foreseeable future. We need to draft and implement a new government. This “Democratic” one isn’t working. It’s also an autocracy, especially when it comes to the Presidency.
